The Dubai Butterfly Garden is the biggest (indoor) butterfly garden (aviary) in the world. The garden was inaugurated in April, 2015 just two years after the Dubai Miracle Garden. The Dubai Butterfly Garden is basically an indoor aviary of butterflies with a total of 15,000 butterflies of about 50 species. All of these 15,000 butterflies live at 10 custom-built domes which cover an area of 6,673 square meters. An indoor butterfly aviary of this magnitude is never heard at any location on the planet earth except for Dubai.

The Dubai Butterfly Garden is the largest indoor butterfly garden in the world. The garden is operating since April 2015 while it offers 15,000 butterflies along with 50 different species.

Therefore; both in terms of its size and numbers of butterflies, the Dubai Butterfly Garden is the largest butterfly garden in the world. This means that each dome is climatized in accordance with the requirements of the specific butterfly species. This is the key reason that such a vast number of butterflies (15,000) along with 50 species can not only thrive but also hatched at the Dubai Butterfly Garden.

Each and every dome of the Dubai Butterfly Garden is specifically built in accordance with the requirements of the butterflies. Each dome also grows nectar plants which are called butterfly bush and butterfly weeds, for butterflies.

These 50 species at the Dubai Miracle Garden are of various colors, sizes and shapes etc. and they natively belong to various continents i.e., North America, South America, Asia and Australia. Furthermore; each dome is set at the temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. Finally; each dome also grows nectar plants which serves as the food source for the butterflies. These nectar plants are called the butterfly bush (Buddleia Davidii) and butterfly weed (Asclepias Tuberosa).

Usually people consider moths as smaller in size as compared to butterflies but this Atlas Moth with a wing span of almost 12 inches long is the biggest of all the butterflies as well. Apart from Atlas Moth you may also watch the world’s second largest butterfly named as the Blue Morpho Butterfly which is also very huge.

The Dubai Butterfly Garden has the world’s largest moth i.e., the Atlas Moth and the second largest butterfly species i.e., the Blue Morpho Butterfly. An owl butterfly also haunts the visitors of the Butterfly Garden.

The opening and closing hours of the Dubai Butterfly Garden are from 9:00 am in the morning to 6:00 pm in the evening. These timings are true for both weekdays and weekends. The timing is strictly observed at the Dubai butterfly Garden. It is advisable to visit the Dubai Butterfly Garden during the weekdays, as the garden will be less crowded and you will have more opportunities to experience and learn about the butterflies.

Since the Dubai Butterfly Garden is just 5 minutes of walk away from the Dubai Miracle Garden, therefore; the same RTA Bus No. 105 can be taken from the Mall of Emirates to this butterfly garden. However; this RTA Bus No. 105 is only available when the Dubai Miracle Garden is open i.e., November to May. This cost of this RTA Bus No. 105 is just 7 AED.

The cheapest way to reach the Dubai Butterfly Garden is to come on an RTA Bus No. 105 which operates from the Mall of Emirates Metro Station. However; this bus only operates when the Dubai Miracle Garden is open.

Apart from that you may have to come on your own or through taxi at the Dubai Miracle Garden. The nearest metro station to the Dubai Butterfly Garden is the Mall of Emirates Metro Station. The cost of taxi from the Dubai International Airport to the Dubai Butterfly Garden will be around 70 AED while it may take you 20 to 30 AED from the Mall of Emirates Metro Station to Dubai Butterfly Garden.
