Crying Lady at Dubai Miracle Garden
The Crying Lady at the Dubai Miracle Garden tears down a river through floral representation. The overall theme conveys the message of grief and sadness in a surrealistic way. The Crying Lady’s sculpture is engraved on the wall with two hands. She is holding wilted flowers while she is crying so much that a river is flowing from her tears. All this is represented with the help of colorful flowers flowing as tears. In philosophical terms the overall message can be interpreted as, “Tears are like river which guide you to a new better path” and in the current scenario it is leading you to the colorful floral paths of the Dubai Miracle Garden.

The year 2015 marked the third episode of the Dubai Miracle Garden. Therefore; the Crying Lady sculpture was introduced a bit later as the Dubai Miracle Garden was already launched in 2013. From 2015 till now (2017), the crying lady’s sculpture remained relatively same and no visible modifications have been made within its overall floral theme. However; a slight change within color combination of the flower bedding has been made over the years. But the overall look and feel of the Crying Lady sculpture has remained the same throughout the years.

These flowers include Petunia flowers, Verbena Flowers and Marigold flowers respectively. These flowers are decorated on the hair of the Crying Lady, her tears and on the river which emerges from these tears. The hair part of the sculpture has white and pink colored Verbena Flowers. The tears of the Crying Lady have red colored Petunia flowers. The river of the Crying Lady has yellow and orange colored Marigold flowers. The Marigold flowers continue throughout the pathway where it gets integrated with other floral themes of the Dubai Miracle Garden.

This height is measured from the ground till the hair part of the Crying lady. One the other hand; the width of this whole sculpture (face stuff) is 10 feet wide. The Crying lady sculpture is overall three and a half feet, above the ground-level of the Dubai Miracle Garden. The fist of the hand in which she is holding the wilted flowers is around 4 feet higher from the ground while the overall height of the wilted flower is around 12 as well. There is also another right hand of the Crying Lady with which she is hiding her face.
f-Share Tweet Linkedin Google+ Pinterest VKThe overall maintenance of the Crying Lady sculpture at the Miracle Garden just requires maintenance of flowers. It is fixed and engraved on the wall and it stays there since its launch in 2015. Its face is made up of solid concrete material, so just painting level maintenance is needed on the face. Else the wilted flowers are also artificially made which also require similar level of maintenance. The only real level maintenance of this sculpture is required at the hair and at the tears section of the Crying Lady. This area as mentioned earlier has Verbena and Petunia flowers.
f-Share Tweet Linkedin Google+ Pinterest VKThe Crying Lady sculpture has been photographed a lot and holds a certain degree of popularity at the Dubai Miracle Garden. Its individual (let alone) picture is very popular but in all the photographs which have been reviewed so far; no one likes to have a photograph with this sad faced Crying Lady sculpture of the Dubai Miracle Garden. We haven’t seen any selfie or any individual standing next to the Crying Lady. It generally gives such an impression of sadness that everyone seems to avoid the sculpture. Taking its complete snapshot is easier as the area around the Crying Lady is relatively spacious. However; at the night time under the lights taking photograph of this sculpture has been challenging for the photographers.
